Loving Arms Pet Placement

Tools used:

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator

I chose a local pet fostering and adoption agency's website to redesign as part of a project for a level 400 ASU course. When doing the rhetorical analysis of the original site, I defined the type of audience that would find Loving Arms and outlined what they would be looking for. For example, This website is information-heavy in regards to animal fostering so there needed to be organization and easy-to-navigate sections in order for users to receive the content effectively.

With this in mind, I set forth with the redesign. I presented several wireframes of the landing page to classmates, to moving on with low fidelity mockups to present. Both the wireframes & mockups were created with Illustrator. The agency's logo had a decent amount of jpeg artifacts and had a white background, so I cleaned and smoothed the logo in Photoshop and removed as much of the white background as I could. After a second round of feedback with the lo-fi mockups, I was then able to work on a high fidelity, final mockup with a cleaned-up logo and photos of animals from the original site.
